Rabies Vaccination Policy
We require proof of current rabies vaccination for all pets visiting the salon. We need to be able to verify the expiration date, which, unfortunately means the tag doesn't cut it. Bummer, we know. You may bring a physical copy for us to collect the expiration date, or Rabies paperwork can be emailed to: 4theluvofdogs2020@gmail.com
Cancellations, late appointments & no-shows
I understand that life happens! However, Late Cancellations or drop-offs and no-shows affect the daily schedule and take a valuable spot that could have been given to a pet on the waiting list. I respectfully request 24 hours notice for any cancellation or schedule changes.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a late cancellation fee of 50% of the scheduled service(s).
I do my best to accommodate those running late to appointments. However, if you are running more than 10-15 minutes late I cannot guarantee that I will have adequate time to complete the scheduled service(s). This may require a reschedule for the appointment. Those running more than 30 minutes late may be considered a No-Show and charged 50% of the scheduled service at the next visit. If you are running late please contact me as soon as possible so that I may plan accordingly.
After 3 no-show or cancellation incidents I will require a card to be kept on file.
Grooming Puppies & Seniors
The sooner you can start getting your puppy groomed, the better! I start introductory grooms at 8 weeks old and recommend immediate pickup for them to avoid excess stress and exposure to other pets. The more frequently you bring your young puppy in, the more comfortable they will be throughout their lives! We suggest scheduling as many puppy introduction grooms as possible before your pup turns 6 months, and then scheduling a full groom after that. Ideally, your pup will have had at least 3-4 puppy introduction grooms before 6 months. I will not force a puppy older than 6 months through a full groom if they haven’t been professionally groomed before or they are not comfortable. Your furbaby's safety is my top concern.
Extra care and patience will be used for older pets; however, I will not be held responsible for any reaction due to mental or physical stress while grooming geriatric pets. If in my judgement, the grooming process causes too much stress, I will modify or stop services. Please be sure to notify me of any health conditions that may make your pet uncomfortable during grooming services.
Matting
Matted coats can cause a variety of skin and health problems; such as circulation issues, hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections, and bruising. The skin underneath gets raw and inflamed. Matted coats do not dry properly and can lead to rotting fur and skin.
Removing matting can be difficult and painful for the pet. The safest and most effective way to remove matting is to shave the pelted coat away from the skin. The process of removing matting may cause or reveal underlying conditions impossible to see below the coat.** We will always do our best to safely remove all matting while keeping the pet as comfortable as possible. Matting or excessive tangling may result in additional grooming fees.
**4theLUVofDogs Grooming is not responsible for any adverse affects caused by matt removal. In certain cases we may refer matted pets to veterinarian.
Early drop-off & late pickup
As much as I love your furbabies, I cannot keep them for extended periods of time without prior arrangements. This helps keep the salon calm and quiet for my four legged guests all day. I will provide you with an update when I am in the final stretch of the groom. I respectfully request pickup within 45 minutes of completion. I reserve the right to charge a daycare fee for pets left at the salon for an excessive period of time after I have notified you that your pet is ready, as I see fit.
I know that situations occur and ask that you notify me as soon as possible if something arrises.
Pet & Groomer Safety Policy
Your pet's safety and health is my #1 concern. Due care will be taken with pets for the safety of the pet and groomer. If necessary, a muzzle, e-collar, slings, straps, etc. will be humanely used during the groom.
Please be aware if the pet does not remain still during the grooming procedures, accidents can happen such as nicks from clippers, scissors, or nail trimmers.
For pets to properly respond to grooming it is essential that the pet be alone with the groomer and the client not assist in the grooming process unless requested to do so.
Customers assume all liabilities financial and otherwise for the behavior and health of their pet.
I reserve the right to alter or stop any groom in the event that I determine it is in your pet's best interest or your pet displays aggressive behavior.. PLEASE DO NOT ADMINISTER SEDATION TO YOUR PET WITHOUT DISCUSSING WITH ME IN ADVANCE.
In consideration of the services rendered by 4theLUVofDogs Grooming, customer waives any and all claims, actions or demands foreseen or unforeseen against 4theLUVofDogs relating to the care or control, health and/or safety of customers' pets arrising during services performed.
